Personal Note

The Second Skin roadtrip has been one of the most memorable events of my life thus far. I'm thinking about it now retrospectively (in the middle of it), and what a fun strange trip it has been. First things first. I'm a penniless filmmaker who dreamt of touring around the United States, and hitting all the premieres. The only problem is that gas costs money. Well, my brother, out of the goodness/ingenious of his heart said, "What if we get all of our friends and family to pitch in a few bucks each?".

I have a feeling we're about to get a slew of new visitors, so I thought I'd give you a quick catchup on the crazy little story of this movie.  For those True Believers who've followed our blog for the past three years, feel free to chime in if I forgot something important.  I'll keep this short.

For most people this isn't a surprise, but since we're refreshing the site I figured it was about time we got the facts straight here. We are a small company called Pure West who works out of Astoria. Everyday I talk the long walk down to my basement, and everyone walks in groggily.

We work long hours sometimes and normal hours others. Recently, the days seem to be stretching later and later into the night. It's okay though if we weren't working together we'd probably be hanging out together.

Peter just accomplished something over a year in the making.  The product of bucketloads of blood, sweat and tears.  Today marks more or less the end of this Herculean feat that I think 99% of producers could have never accomplished.  But Peter weathered the storm and saw this thing through.

I'll spare you the legal mumbo jumbo and instead ask, if you see Peter on the street, give him a little kiss on the cheek.  That dude deserves it.  For he is a golden god.

Hi folks- it's been a minute.  In upgrading our site I lost the ability to blog until Juan showed me a secret passage.  Now everything's peachy and I'll get you up to speed quickly.

The short version: we lucked out with our distributor.  Apart from being generally awesome, L---- is really allowing us to take an active role in the process of getting our baby out into the world.  Once a week we have a conference call- Peter, Juan and I on our end, and a huge chunk of their staff on their end.
